The Huayra is the successor of the Pagani Zonda. It’s a mid-engined hypercar with an amazing power-to-weight ratio. It has an even better power-to-weight ratio than a Bugatti Veyron SS! The Huayra comes in at only 1,350kg.
The Huayra uses a 6.0-litre Mercedes Benz AMG 60-degree bi-turbo V12 that produce 730HP and 740lb ft of torque. It has a seven-speed sequential that drives the rear wheels only and it’s interestingly enough not a dual-clutch. The thought of Pagani behind this was that a dual-clutch would increase the weight by 70kg. A compromise that he didn’t want to make.
To maximise downforce and minise drag depending on throttle position, steering angle and branking force, the Huayra can employ four aerodynamic airbrake-type flaps. These flaps are positioned on the corners of the car.
How is the interior of the Huayra?
The Pagani’s interior is an absolute piece of art. There is no interior in the world, more beautiful than that of the Huayra. It wouldn’t look out of place in an art gallery! The exposed gate of the sequential box is a beautiful piece of mechanical art. The seats look like they come straight out of an spacecraft. The instrumentpanel.. is just breathtaking. The interior of the Huayra just has that feel and exotic look that you expect from a car of this price level.
How is it to drive the Pagani Huayra?
Well as expected the Huayra is quite intimidating. It takes a bit of time to get used to the car. The sequential box is clunky and the car doesn’t like to go slow. But when you ‘accidentally’ floor the throttle, the engine goes absolutely bazurk. The car feels and sounds insane. It’s literally fast enough to make you squeak like a girl. The dynamics are also excellent. The car drives brilliantly, it feels small and the steering feel is excellent. Overall the car drives like the king of hypercars should drive. It’s a rush, it’s astonishing, it’s breathtaking and it exotic.
